1965: The UK music show Juke Box Jury, a program where four panelists review new Pop music, turns thumbs down on The Righteous Brothers' latest release, "You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling", calling it "a miss." It will prove to be one of the most talked about miscalculations in the show's history, as the tune would go on to top both the UK and US charts.

1966: Although they would go on to have a great deal of success on the Country chart, The Statler Brothers enjoy their only Billboard Hot 100 success when "Flowers On The Wall" peaks at #4

1980: Led Zeppelin's "In Through the Out Door" is awarded a Platinum disc. It's the last album issued before the September 25th death of drummer John Bonham.

1979: Nearly three months after its release, Melissa Manchester's version of "Don't Cry Out Loud" finally enters the Billboard Top 40. It would take another three months for the song to reach its peak at #10. Thanks to its long chart life, the record would go on to be ranked as Billboard's 26th biggest hit of 1979.

1980: The first number one song of the eighties belonged to KC And The Sunshine Band for "Please Don't Go". It was their fifth and final US chart topper.
