1964: Marvin Gaye's "How Sweet It Is" enters the Hot 100, where it will peak at #6 during a 14 week stay. The song would become a hit all over again when James Taylor took it to #5 in 1975.

1965: "I Hear A Symphony" becomes The Supremes' sixth US number one single. The trio had their streak of five chart toppers in a row interrupted by "Nothing But Heartaches", which stalled at number 11.

1976: Van Morrison's 1970 album, "Moondance" is awarded a Gold record. The LP, which made it to #29 on the Hot 200, contained two hits: the title track and "Into the Mystic", and would be inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 1999

1990: The Righteous Brothers saw their popularity surge when the movie, Ghost, (starring Patrick Swayze and Demi Moore) featured their 1965 hit, "Unchained Melody". Their original version and a re-recorded cut both made it into the US top 20, while three Greatest Hits albums made the Billboard chart.

1992: After a long battle to claim royalties, Jimmy Merchant and Herman Santiago of Frankie Lymon And The Teenagers received an estimated $4 million in back payments from the song "Why Do Fools Fall In Love".
