1966: Although they would go on to have a great deal of success on the Country chart, The Statler Brothers enjoy their only Billboard Hot 100 success when "Flowers On The Wall" peaks at #4.

1969: The music / comedy trio, Scaffold, which included Paul McCartney's younger brother Mike, led the UK singles chart with a novelty tune called "Lily The Pink". Elton John, along with Graham Nash of The Hollies, contributed backing vocals and Jack Bruce of Cream played bass guitar.

1962: Burl Ives' "A Little Bitty Tear" cracks the Billboard Top 40 on its way to #9. His first hit came in 1947 with a Folk song written in the 1840s, "Jimmy Crack Corn", which he followed with "Big Rock Candy Mountain" in 1949.
