DJ cypher, AKA Jeffrey Weinstock, has been a DJ and promoter of goth, industrial, new wave, and "intelligent electronica" since 1994. His club residencies have included BOUND Washington DC, Contempt NYC, and BOUND Hartford; and his many guest spots include multiple appearances at Philadelphia's famed Dracula's Ball, the Convergence Goth Festival (Chicago and Detroit), Endless Night (New Orleans), GhoulSchool (Hollywood), and House of Voodoo (San Francisco).
DJ cypher's Dark Nation Radio began in 1999 as a conventional radio program on the University of Connecticut's community radio station WHUS. It then migrated with Jeffrey to central Michigan and 2001 and ran for three years on Central Michigan University's WMHW. DNR made the jump to internet radio in 2004 and ran on Live365 from then until Live365 abruptly shut down in 2016. The show then transitioned to WFKU online before shifting now to SOR. It is among the longest-running and most listened to "dark music" programs on the web.
