1977: The Eagles attain their third Billboard chart topper with "New Kid In Town", the first single released from their "Hotel California" album. In the UK, it reached #20. At next year's Grammy Awards, the song would win for Best Vocal Arrangement for Two or More Voices.

1984: Van Halen enjoyed a US number one smash with "Jump", after David Lee Roth added lyrics to music that Eddie Van Halen had written two years before. The song became a #7 hit in the UK.

1965: The Beach Boys record "Help Me Rhonda", with guitarist Al Jardine singing lead vocal. The disc will become their second Billboard #1 and stay on the chart for eleven weeks.
